It is about five years since I was attracted to Christian Science, and I wish to put on record my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for having made plain to our erring feet the way that leadeth to everlasting Life. A dear friend, after medical science had exhausted all its resources in vain, was called back to life and health and strength after a month's Christian Science treatment, and this impelled me to find out for myself what Christian Science taught. At first I could not understand even the most elementary statements of Science and Health, but I continued to study it with an honest desire to find the truth, if truth it contained.

Gradually things became clearer to me, especially the chapter on Prayer, and I began to put into practice the little I could grasp. I had worn spectacles for over forty years and never ventured out of the house without them, but when I learned that sight, spiritually understood, is a faculty of Mind, I discarded the glasses at once and have never worn them since. I am perfectly comfortable without them, and though not what is called long-sighted I can always see anything which it is important for me to see. As I have progressed in understanding, and more especially since I have had the inestimable help of class instruction, I have been able to demonstrate the truth as it is taught in Christian Science by the healing of various ailments in my family and house hold and the establishment of peace and harmony where friction and worry had been the usual conditions. A hand badly bitten by a horse, a severe burn, an apparently serious case of sunstroke, as well as broken wind in a horse, were all quickly cured when they were recognized as only erroneous beliefs. Since the declaration of war in 1914 the question of supply has become pressing, but always a way out has been shown me when to mortal mind there was "no thoroughfare," and the supply is at all times sufficient for my actual need.

For this help I am most grateful; but far more precious is the spiritual uplift, the peace "which passeth all understanding" that comes with the realization of the presence here and now of divine Love. For these and all His other blessings I humbly give thanks to God, and I hope that some weary traveler reading this testimony may be induced to "taste and see that the Lord is good."
