From the fact that Christian Science demonstrates the Master's mission, "On earth peace, good will toward men," it would be impossible for its teachings to "lessen in the slightest degree the love" Jesus expressed for mankind. Christian Science maintains that the wonderful work of the Master, the healing of sickness and sin, no less than the agony of Gethsemane and the struggle on Calvary, established Christ Jesus as the mediator between God and man.

Our critic says, "Sin is real, . . . and God hates sin." But Habakkuk declares that God is "of purer eyes than to behold evil," and cannot "look on iniquity ;" while the Biblical account of creation states that God made all that was made, and "it was very good." Webster defines as real that which is fixed, permanent, immovable. Jesus' overcoming of "the world, the flesh, and the devil" proved conclusively that these conditions do not exist as entities or facts ; hence their appearance, being purely suppositional, is destructible.

Christian Science makes plain the words and works of our Lord and Master by revealing a demonstrable understanding of his teachings which awakens consciousness to the fact that man in perfect even as his Father in heaven is perfect.
