I have a deep sense of gratitude for the blessings that have come to me through Christian Science, and it is with a desire to tell others about it that I send this testimony.

About seven and a half years ago I was a physical and mental wreck, suffering all the tortures that a diseased body and mind could inflict. At this juncture I turned to Christian Science, not that I had any faith in its curative power, but simply because it was the only thing I had not tried, and the thought was that if it did not do me any good it could not harm me, as nothing could cause me to be in a worse condition than I then was. I now look back upon the day when I first consulted a Christian Science practitioner as the most blessed day of my life, for it started me on to find a better condition of health than had ever seemed possible, and more than this, a happiness which like the peace of God "passeth all understanding."

Up to the time I turned to Christian Science my thought from earliest childhood was that I was doomed to fill a consumptive's grave, as I was the only one left out of a family of eight, my mother, father, four brothers, and a sister having passed on with this dreaded disease. To mortal sense there was good reason for me to think that I too would follow in the same way, for I had always suffered with severe colds from the beginning of winter until spring, and rarely knew what it was to go through a night without coughing until nearly exhausted. Now I rarely have a cold, and if I do, it is quickly overcome through the power of Truth.
