I feel impelled by a great sense of joy to tell what Christian Science has done for me. I did not come into it for physical healing only, but through a desire for spiritual light, a longing to know God. By profession I am a trained nurse, and have for years handled cases in the old way, helping patients through gloom, doubt, and despair without any seeming ray of light other than chance; but with the dawn of this new light, this change of concept, all things seem new. My work is a real joy, for while administering in their material way to the material bodies of my patients I can also know the truth which heals and makes free.
After attending the Wednesday evening testimony meetings for over two years, I was attacked by what to mortal sense would be called a slight stroke of paralysis and asked for Christian Science help. The practitioner came from church, and after talking with me for a while, gave me treatment. I was healed instantaneously; strength and light flooded my consciousness. I prepared my grip that evening, walked ten blocks to a new patient, and was able during the case to perform my duties with efficiency, feeling no effects of my previous illness. My healing has been permanent, and the spiritual uplift has been such that I am able to demonstrate the truth for my family and others as well as for myself. I am practising what I know, and am indeed happy to glorify God in declaring the truth of the Bible and the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
In my new-found joy I have but one desire,—to put on the Mind which was in Christ Jesus, to give the message to others, and thus help to bring the kingdom of God on earth. I am thankful to God for the spiritual light, and to our dear Leader for giving us this new-old truth.
