Most testimonies enumerate the blessings derived from Christian Science from a physical standpoint, but while I have received unlimited good in a physical way, I am more grateful for the healing of mental distress. For several years previous to taking up Science I had been an invalid, but with the help of friends was able to eliminate most of the thought that I classified as limitations, and at first was quite happy. I soon became discontented, however, and allowed myself to think of what others could do, and what I could not do, until I had reached a point of such discouragement and self-condemnation that I was planning to put an end to everything. Then the message of Truth and Love came to me, assuring me that I had a right to be, and I gained a glimpse of what it means to be a child of God.
For almost eight years now I have been following that glorious light and have daily proved that God's kingdom "is come" (Science and Health, p. 16) and perfect harmony can be experienced here and now. All that I am and ever can be I owe to Christian Science, which has revealed a perfect God and perfect man as the basis of all our work. I am glad we have a Leader who has reflected so much of God that we may all see the light.—J. Osborn Brink, Laporte, Ind.
