The study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...
The study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy has proved a great blessing to me. On looking back I realize how I have been lifted from the bondage of mortal sense to the freedom of Truth and Love. In August, 1912, Christian Science first came to my attention, but having been brought up in another faith, I could not then see that it was right. It was not until March, 1914, that I began to study the text-book.
One day I read in the chapter entitled Fruitage a testimony which told of severe eye trouble being overcome, and which concluded by saying that if Christian Science had done this for one, it would surely do it for all. Glasses which had been worn for nine years were immediately laid aside and have not been needed since. My eyes had been treated by specialists, who said I would never be able to leave off wearing glasses, also that they should have been worn from infancy, as a defect in my eyes and granulated lids were hereditary. An annual throat trouble, known to medical practice as abscess, was overcome with the help of a practitioner in five days. For two days I could not speak a word and had to write down what I wanted to say, but the condition disappeared suddenly, leaving me quite well and very happy. Under a physician's care the throat would have been lanced, and without doubt I would have been confined indoors for three weeks.
Words cannot express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me daily. I consider it a great privilege to send this testimony and trust it will be the means of relieving others from similar bondage. I also wish to express my gratitude for our literature and to those who prepare the Lesson-Sermons, likewise to the Christian Scientists who have so kindly helped me. My great desire is to learn more of this truth and let the light shine so as to help others.
