For a long time I have felt it a duty as well as a privilege to express my gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought into my life.

I knew of Christian Science for a number of years before accepting its teaching. I had purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, which I read a little, then laid aside, thinking I could not understand it. Not until I was in a strange city, a complete wreck physically, and my money all gone, with the prospect of having to go back to the hospital (I had been there for nearly four months a few years before), did I turn fully to Truth. One day when alone something said to me, Why don't you give Christian Science a fair trial; they say it is God that does the healing, and if it is, He is no respecter of persons and will heal you. I hunted up the text-book, and when my husband came home he found me reading and asked what I had. When I told him, he had little faith I would be benefited, as he was a druggist; but I was desperate. By faithful study I was healed of chronic bowel disorder, female weakness, and nervousness that seemed worse than any pain; but the root of all the trouble was fear. I was afraid of everything; there seemed to be danger everywhere. I had been taught to believe in a literal hell, a personal God up in the sky, and a devil after me constantly. It is impossible to describe the peace and joy of knowing God as divine Principle, Love.
