During the past fourteen years Christian Science has been a great help to me in many ways. I write this testimony in the hope that it may help some one who is having experiences similar to mine. In Science and Health (p. 231) Mrs. Eddy writes, "Unless an ill is rightly met and fairly overcome by Truth, the ill is never conquered." This statement was proven to me.

About seven years ago I gradually became deaf. There was a discharge from the ears, and I was unable to hear any ordinary conversation. A Christian Science practitioner worked faithfully for me, but though my hearing was better at times, the trouble would always return. I had, however, received so many proofs that Christian Science could and did heal "all manner of disease," that I did not doubt I could be healed. This went on for two years, while I continued to take treatment and study Science and Health, together with the Bible.

In the fall of 1908 another problem presented itself. It was the question as to whether I should stay and work for the man by whom I was then employed, and where I felt well satisfied, or whether I should take a position where I seemed to be more needed. This problem seemed so important to me that I asked God to show me the way. I made the change, and at the same time I formed a resolution that I could obey the "still small voice" which spoke to my conscience, and fear nothing. From that day I ceased to worry, and my thoughts were ever that I was going to work for God. In less than two weeks my hearing was restored, and I have had no further trouble in this respect. I have been a free man in every sense of the word. For this I am very grateful. I have also been healed of stomach disorder and a bowel difficulty.
