The Lectures

Willis F. Gross delivered a lecture on "Christian Science: the Christ—method of Healing," under the auspices of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, in the church edifice, Falmouth, Norway, and St. Paul Streets, on Friday night [Dec. 3]. The lecturer was introduced by H. Cornell Wilson, first reader, who said:—

The Christian Science movement in its character and development is so unusual, and the nature and testimony of its accomplishment are so remarkable, that there has been aroused in men and women of all shades of belief a feeling of earnest inquiry which reaches out to understand the teaching that lies back of all this manifestation. Recognizing the spirit of this inquiry, Mrs. Eddy, the Founder of the Christian Science movement, instituted the Christian Science board of lectureship. The members of this board, carrying out the plan inaugurated by our Leader, present the subject of Christian Science publicly through their lectures. They expound the teachings of Christian Science, characterize and illustrate its service to mankind, and correct erroneous views held or promulgated regarding it.
