One day a shotgun was accidentally discharged close to my ear, and when I awoke the following morning, it was impossible for me to hear. On Monday morning I went to a Christian Science practitioner and received treatment, and by the next day my ear had relaxed so that I could hear a little. I continued treatment until Saturday, when I was able to hear as well as ever. As my father was not a Scientist, I did not tell him about my ear until after it was healed, and then he insisted on taking me to a specialist to have it examined. After examination the doctor said that the eardrum had been ruptured and that it was marvelous how it had healed so quickly. I have never been troubled with my ear since I was healed, and the hearing in that ear is perfect.
