I wish to give my testimony, and I feel that I should have sent it in long ago. I have known of Christian Science for eight years, but was not interested in it till about five years ago, when my husband was healed of measles in a few days with no after effects, as so many have under medical treatment. He was the most inveterate smoker I ever saw, but he has never used tobacco in any form since having treatment in Christian Science.

In the fall of 1909 I had a bad attack of chills and fever with severe cold and cough. I took a great deal of medicine, but it did not do any good; instead, I was getting worse all the time. I was extremely weak, and at last I began to lose blood every time I coughed. I then decided to have Christian Science treatment and wrote at once to a practitioner. I began to improve immediately, but slowly. I was up all the time, however, and at the end of three weeks I had gained so much that I discontinued treatment. I had very good health until the next fall, when I seemed to have a worse cold than I had ever had, with great pain in my chest and side. This was overcome through absent treatment. Many other ills have given place to health through the understanding I have gained in studying the Lesson-Sermons, both for myself and three children. Colds, throat troubles, earache, croup, have all been overcome. Neuralgia in my face and an abscess on the gum were healed in less than a week through my own understanding of Christian Science, and with much less suffering than I had experienced on a previous occasion when I had used material means.

The most wonderful of all the physical benefits was the painless birth of my last child. I had decided to have absent treatment, but when the time came there was no way to let the practitioner know; nor had I any need, for everything went on as harmoniously as any one could wish, whereas at each birth before this I had suffered all but death, it seemed. The baby was a strong, healthy boy. He will be two years old next month and has never tasted any sort of medicine. There have been many more blessings, but I cannot tell of them here, though I am very grateful for them all as well as for the literature and our text-book, Science and Health, which brings light to all earnest seekers after Truth.
