The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have been a great help to me, and for this reason I want to tell of my own healing. A few years ago I was visiting at a distance from my home, and in working in some acid I got a quantity of it into my eye. Knowing the belief held respecting this acid, having studied medicine with my husband, who has been a practising physician for the past twenty years, I felt assured that there was no help unless God could aid me. In this state of thought, with both eyes closed and in intense pain, I asked for help in Christian Science. In twenty-four hours all pain and inflammation had vanished, and I could open both eyes; the second day the sight returned to the burned eye and I was completely healed. Can words express gratitude for this?

I afterward took up the study of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and while the understanding of its teachings comes to me slowly, I know that they are true, and that, as we read on page 442, "an improved belief cannot retrograde."
