It is six years since my attention was directed to Christian Science, shortly after I was discharged from a famous hospital, where I had been for months under the care of one of the most efficient medical and nursing staffs. While there, the chief physician gave me a prescription for a dose which he said I might take as long as I believed in it. At this time I was a heavy smoker, and felt with others who came to visit me, that frequent calls for the tobacco and whisky cabinet were absolutely necessary, so much so, that the aroma of these indulgences was frequent in the house. The understanding of Truth through Christian Science has, however, quite cured me of these desires. For years it had been considered necessary to my existence to use drugs constantly for stomach and other disorders, and I suffered much in consequence. In Christian Science I realized enough of our Master's command to take no thought for the body, to enable me to do away with all material means, and in this respect, through reliance solely on divine Love and Truth, I am now well and free.

Other visible signs of the ever-presence of divine Love are indicated by the fact that my mother and sister, who with me comprise the household, are good Scientists and have had many demonstrations of Truth's power. For this my thankfulness to God is unbounded, as is also my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for guiding our steps to the light. I am grateful, too, for the great improvement and regeneration in my thought-processes from the low sensual plane on which they rested at one time, to what they are now,—a constant endeavor to think as God would have me think. This has been the means—though my final demonstration is not yet complete—of making me happy and grateful to all those who have helped me so much. All is more beautiful and harmonious than I ever dreamed possible previous to the advent of Christian Science in my consciousness. I write this testimony in the hope that it may serve to encourage some one still lingering in the mist of doubt and uncertainty, as I was at one time.
