In a recent issue, under "Talks for a Quiet Hour," by the Rev. A. J. Waldron, Christian Science is mentioned as a new cult. It is referred to as teaching strange and weird things. Christian Science is, however, a reiteration of the teachings of Jesus, and the proof of this statement is seen in the healing of the sick and the sinning, of which there is abundant evidence in this present time; and this is what Jesus said should follow "them that believe." People are tired of creed and dogma. Words without deeds, preaching without practise, like clouds without rain, no longer satisfy. Jesus was asked, "What shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Comes the reply, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind." Now Christian Science teaches that in order to love God, and thereby inherit eternal life, we must know Him, for again Jesus said, "This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God," and it is because Christian Science reveals the true idea of God, as infinite good, all–power, all–presence, that the seeming presence and power of evil, disease, sin, death, is eliminated from human experience. There is surely nothing weird or strange about this.

In the Preface of the Christian Science text–book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, we read (p. xi), "The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus' time, from the operation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation." This text–book can be borrowed free of charge from any of the Christian Science reading–rooms.
