I have long had a desire to tell what Christian Science has done for me and mine, and after reading an article in the Journal, I saw my duty plainer than ever, so I am giving my first testimony. I have known of Christian Science for twelve years, and have received help through it from time to time; but I did not become sufficiently interested to study it until a little over four years ago, when visiting a sister. At this time my daughter, then four years old, was healed of a severe attack of illness. The practitioner explained Christian Science so simply, and what little I grasped gave me such peace of mind, that I determined to study and know more about this truth. Since then we have never taken any medicine.

My understanding came slowly. For two years I did not know any Scientists, and as we lived ten miles from a Christian Science church, I could not attend services often. When discord appeared, our trouble was always met by calling on a practitioner. Two years ago, three others here became interested in Christian Science, and we started to meet at one of the homes on Thursday afternoon, no read the week's Lesson-Sermon. Since then several have joined us, and now we meet on Sunday morning and conduct the services as in the branch churches.

My son, when two years old, was poisoned by putting in his mouth some brass which had been exposed to the weather. He seemed to be very ill, but this trouble was overcome through the help of a practitioner. I feel very thankful to God for this demonstration, for I believe our boy would not be with us now had we not known of Christian Science.
