An overwhelming sense of gratitude impels me to tell of the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. I had been suffering with an abdominal complaint for years, and had become very nervous, so that life often seemed a burden, and I could only imperfectly attend to the duties of a large household. Even though at times there was improvement, the fear stayed with me that I might have a return of the trouble, and this made me unhappy and worried; besides, the improvement was never of long duration. As I had heard of Christian Science through friends several years previous to this. I began to work earnestly along these lines, with the faithful assistance of a practitioner, whereupon there was a marked improvement in my condition. The ailments gradually disappeared, and I have not experienced any nervous trouble for about two years. I am no longer afraid of overexertion, as I know that God is my strength, and that He does not punish us for duties which we have performed.

Grateful though I am for the physical healing. I am still more so for the transformation which has taken place within me. From a dissatisfied, unhappy woman, before whom the cares of life would tower up like insurmountable heights, I have become a contended person, and have come to realize through the study of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and through the understanding of the Bible gained thereby, the omnipotence of God, good, and the unreality of evil; and I know that all evil may be overcome through a better knowledge of God as Love. I have also experienced the great joy of having my husband and four children with me; they have all been helped through Christian Science in times of sickness. I am very grateful for having been able on various occasions to help others, and my greatest desire is to be fitted to work in the vineyard of the Lord.

It was a great help to us to have services and meetings in a small circle at our home, and since we are not all familiar with the English language, we are the more grateful for Der Herold der Christian Science and the smaller German publications which are constantly coming to us, as well as for the translation of the text-book, which shows us, and makes us recognize with utmost gratitude, our great Leader's desire to furnish us with what we need.
