Portland, Ore.—To take care of the rapid growth of the Christian Science denomination in Portland, the three Christian Science churches of this city have unanimously decided to divide the city into four church districts. This plan will prevent overcrowding, and by providing four places of worship in different parts of the city, will give opportunity to many people to attend the service who have heretofore been unable to do so on account of the distance from their homes. This plan will not compel those living in a particular district to worship at the church in that district. Although the plan has been unanimously adopted by the church members, most of whom will undoubtedly affiliate with the church in their respective district, residents of every part of the city will always be welcome at any of the church services.—Spectator.
