Some eighteen months ago I was taken ill with so-called nervous paralysis, which manifested itself at first in the hands. I underwent medical treatment, but none of the remedies, baths, etc., prescribed, brought any improvement. On the contrary, the vision of one eye became affected by the trouble, which also extended to the feet and the lower portion of the body. I consulted several other physicians, and failing to experience relief, I became more and more despondent, for the terrible thought of eventually becoming completely paralyzed tormented me day and night. I had given up all hope of recovery when my attention was once more called to Christian Science, and with the help of acquaintances treatment was secured from a faithful and loving practitioner. After the first visit I became aware of a transformation taking place within me, physically as well as mentally, and my condition improved with every treatment.

After ten weeks had elapsed I was free from the trouble, for my eyesight had become entirely normal and the feeling in the members and in the lower portion of the body was restored, so that I was like a new person. I would like to mention that before my healing I was unable to walk without somebody in attendance, whereas it now became possible for me to undertake a journey, including mountain tours of from ten to twelve hours' duration, without experiencing the least inconvenience. A sense of contentment and peace has come to me such as I have never known before, not even in times of health, and from the depths of my heart I thank God for all the good He bestows. I am also grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her discovery of Christian Science.
