Mrs. Eddy does not claim to have originated one iota of Truth, but to have discovered again the Christ-method of healing and regeneration made clear to the world by Jesus and practised by the early church for about three centuries. Jesus himself in turn based his teachings upon the Mosaic dispensation, and claimed only to have come into the world to "show us the Father," and made it clear that this same Father is "the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." The God of Christian Science therefore and the human recognition of divine Truth date, the one back prior to time, the other back to the earliest spiritual thinkers. We cannot reasonably doubt that the great reformers and teachers in all ages since the beginning of time have had some glimpses of infinite Truth, and philosophies and religions that have survived have done so solely by reason of this fundamental savoring of truth.
