I take pleasure in testifying to two instances of the power of Christian Science in the healing of disease. The first was a severe case of illness with the usual symptoms of chills, fever, and headache. After two days my daughter, who was absent at the time, returned, finding me very ill indeed. She treated me at three in the afternoon, after which I began to feel better. A second treatment was given three hours later, so I was enabled to dress and have dinner with the family, and it was two hours past my usual time for retiring when I went up-stairs perfectly normal.
The other experience for which I have still greater cause to be grateful was the quick healing of a badly injured ankle. While alighting from a moving train I was thrown to the ground with such force that I lost consciousness. I was put into a carriage and taken home by some neighbors who were on the same train. When I regained consciousness I was in intense pain and unable to move, but Christian Science treatment was given, and in a few moments I was free from all pain, though still unable to move, as my right side and ankle seemed to be badly bruised. By the next day, however, I was able to stand on that foot, and the third day found me walking around the house with a perceptible limp, which disappeared very quickly. This seemed very wonderful to me in view of the fact that several years ago I had a similar accident, though apparently not nearly so severe, and I was confined to my bed for six weeks under medical treatment. I am glad of this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for this healing truth.
