THE LECTURES
Virgil O. Strickler lectured for Second Church of Christ, Scientist, March 3. He was introduced by J. B. Christian, who said in part,—
Throughout the civilized world there is a growing interest in Christian Science, an earnest, honest desire on the part of many to know and understand something of the truth which makes for health and happiness. Nine out of ten of those who have taken up the study of Christian Science, and are trying as best they can to live its teachings, have been healed of some malady, and were members of other churches.
Since the time of Christ Jesus no person has lived whose influence has been so felt in every civilized country in the world, and has done more to purify the moral and spiritual atmosphere, than Mary Baker Eddy, the author of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." She has opened the eyes of the people to the fact that health, like the kingdom of God, is within us, and hundreds of thousands of people are living more sanely and more beautifully because of her teaching.
