"LET BROTHERLY LOVE CONTINUE"

Christian Scientists have long recognized that harmony and unity are essential in the progress of the cause to which they have given their allegiance, and from day to day they are proving that works, and not words alone, are the true index to the extent to which these qualities control their action; and it will not be amiss, perhaps, to call attention to one or two concrete instances of this kind.

A few weeks ago there was dedicated in Chicago the edifice of Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist, of that city, and the occasion was made significant by the fact that this sturdy little church was enabled to open its building entirely free from debt, through the generous action of all the other Christian Science churches in Chicago, they having taken collections for this purpose a week or so before. This generosity and brotherly kindness proved again the availability of the divine Principle upon which all harmonious action must be based, but in addition to this it proved the truth of the saying of the preacher, "Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many day." Twice in its history this church had given the entire amount of its building fund to the need of other churches, only in its own time of need to have the gift returned many fold.

Another instance of the helpful harmony which exists between Christian Science churches is disclosed in a telegram received by the Board of Directors of The Mother Church from representatives of the Christian Science organizations of Greater New York. This telegram was as follows:—
