I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and...
I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and what it has done for me. I suffered for at least twelve years wit a terrible pain in my face which extended to the base of the brain. I tried several doctors, but could get no relief. One said I could be cured by electricity, and I tired it for months, but got no help A specialist in Chicago said that the only help would be from an operation, but it would be a very dangerous and severe one, and possibly it would not cure me. Words cannot express what I suffered. Some days I could not open my mouth to take any food or even to talk without suffering terribly. The pain would come on every two or three months and last for several weeks at a time, and I often wondered if I would always have to suffer so.
I at last thought to try Christian Science, but the doctors had made me think this such a terrible disease and so hard to cure that I had much fear lest I should not be helped, but after taking treatment at different times for about a year I was completely healed. My healing was slow, but I realized that I was gradually being healed, and I cannot find words to express how thankful I am to God, also to Mrs. Eddy for the truth which healed me. The reading of the Bible in connection with Science and Health has been a source of strength and has helped me in many other ways. I now see that by studying to know God better I shall be healed of everything fleshly. I feel more thankful each day for Christian Science, and what it has done for me. I hope this testimonial may help others who are suffering as I did. God always hears and helps us if we put our trust in Him, and I daily pray for more light and a better understanding of His word. I now have an abiding faith in God and His promises. His grace is "sufficient."
