I was brought into this truth through a desire to know...
I was brought into this truth through a desire to know more of God, and how to heal mankind as the Bible teaches. I had been an orthodox Christian for years, but seemed hedged in and not able to progress; and the Bible appeared contradictory and not easily understood. My first liberated thought came through a theory that taught healing, but had little to do with the Bible. I declared I would follow the truth wherever I should find it, and then I heard of Christian Science, and knew at once that it was what I was seeking, for it gave me a true sense of our Father-Mother God. I have been now seventeen years following the light of Truth. I have been healed of a throat affection and rheumatism that had troubled me at intervals from childhood, also a bowel disorder and hemorrhage from the head that seemed very alarming.
One evening an attack continued for about an hour, and next morning for an hour and a half. On telephoning to the practitioner that the conditions were no better, she sent an assuring message, and in a few minutes the flow stopped, much to the astonishment of the lady who was with me. I have had some minor ailments that came from time to time, like temptations, and have overcome the most of these alone with the truth. This makes me very happy, and I am now trying to make some return for what has been done for me by helping my fellow-men.
I am deeply grateful to our dear Leader for standing so firm against the whole world, upholding the banner of Christ, Truth, that she saw as the redeemer from sin and sickness.—Gertrude E. Meriam, Atlanta, Ga.
