I have long desired to express my gratitude for Christian Science
I have long desired to express my gratitude for Christian Science. It was not illness that led me to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, but rather a desire for the spiritual food those pages contained. This seemed more to me than the healing of disease, but in coming to an understanding of this truth I learned that Christian healing has never been lost. I have overcome what is called hay-fever, which had presented itself year after year. I also suffered from weakness of the heart, brought about by sorrow in my early life, having been left alone with two little children to support. Christian Science brought comfort to me in showing me that I was not alone; that, whatever the case may seem, there is always help for us in every need. I found great comfort in reading page 266 of Science and Health. I have been familiar with sickness and disease from childhood, as my parents were also; and to be able to meet and overcome it in Christian Science is a joy. I have also often been called on to help others.
I have never heard a word from any pulpit that gave so clear an understanding of God, or of Christ Jesus' teaching, as that of our dear Leader in Science and Health and her other writings. For Christian healing I am very grateful, and still more so for the help I have gained in understanding the Bible. I would not part with the understanding of divine Love as revealed in Christian Science for anything that the world could offer. I am very grateful to our dear Leader.—Mrs. Addie E. Haven, Mankato, Minn.
