Some time ago I was severely burned on my face, eyelids, neck, hand, and arm, by the explosion of a gas stove. I called a Christian Science practitioner, and in thirty minutes after she began to treat me I was perfectly easy and fell asleep. By the next morning one bad place had the appearance of at least ten days' healing. My husband and other members of my family insisted that I would be marked for life unless I used material remedies, but I was not in the least alarmed. I continued with Science, and in ten days my face was all smooth and perfectly healed, leaving no sign whatever of scars.

Several weeks later I had another demonstration of the wonderful power of Truth. I had all my life been subject to very severe attacks of quinsy, my suffering always being intense for a week or ten days. I had tried a number of the very best physicians, who administered medicine and other remedies, but all to no avail, as I could not sleep or even rest. My throat was so bad that I could not speak a word distinctly, could not take a morsel of food, or swallow even liquids. The doctors would finally say, after giving me many kinds of nauseous medicine, that the disease would have to take its course, that nothing could be done until it was time to lance the throat, and on one occasion it was lanced seven times. The last attack was in January, 1909, and as I was extremely alarmed to think of having to go through with such suffering and knew that no relief could be gained through material means, I sent for a Christian Science practitioner. After one treatment the high fever was reduced and my suffering allayed. With the third treatment I was entirely healed.

Both of these demonstrations have proved to me the healing power of divine Truth, which is realized in Christian Science, and that Truth is the only reality.
