I too feel it is my duty to give a brief expression of gratitude for the help received through Christian Science. It is nearly eighteen months since I derived benefit through treatment by a practitioner. My son-in-law, who was our family physician, went with me to see two other physicians, in order to hold a consultation. They decided that an operation should be performed, this being, as they thought, the only means whereby I could possibly be helped. I went to my office in order to settle my business, and chanced to meet an acquaintance, to whom I mentioned my troubles, and he told me about the mighty work which Christian Science was accomplishing; that he himself had for years sought healing in materia medica for his ills, but had failed to find relief until he was healed through Christian Science.
My attention having been drawn to this wonderful healing method, I was immediately willing to give it a trial, and the next day called on a practitioner. I experienced relief from the start, and absent treatment was given me, as I was too weak to go to the practitioner's. My son-in-law feels very happy about my having been helped. For many years I suffered with periodical attacks of stomach trouble, also an abdominal complaint, and in 1909 the attacks were more severe than ever before; I could retain no food whatever, and suffered great pain day and night, but I was to experience that man's extremity is God's opportunity. If these evils try to manifest themselves now, I am able to overcome them with God's help and through my perception of Truth and Love. There is normal action of the bowels, for which I am very grateful, as I had formerly to use medicine every day. I can hardly express in words my gratitude to our all-loving Father, and next to Him to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for having shown us the way to Truth so plainly.
