Chicago (Ill.) Journal

Some attempt is made among pronounced opponents of Christian Science to make much out of the announcement that a branch of the church in New Jersey has seceded from The Mother Church in Boston and started in business for itself on an independent basis.

It is fitting comment upon such attempt that, since Mrs. Eddy's death, only two other branches of the denomination have taken similar action. Both were very small bodies and practically under the management of one man. And nothing has been heard of them since they seceded. At the same time, many new congregations have been organized and new church structures erected.

So far the believers have held fast to the faith and practice taught by the Founder of the sect. And their number is increasing. Non-believers may criticize and oppose. But Christian Science "stays."
