It is about eleven years since I became interested in Christian Science. I was at that time passing through a very great sorrow, and had lost all faith in God. It seemed to me that some evil influence of great power stood always ready to snatch from me happiness, health, joy, and everything that I held dear. It was thus that Christian Science found me, a hopeless, despondent woman.

In Science and Health (p. 299) we read, "Corporeal sense, or error, may seem to hide Truth, health, harmony, and Science, as the mist obscures the sun or the mountain; but Science, the sunshine of Truth, will melt away the shadow and reveal the celestial peaks." I realize as never before that since man derives his being from God, good, he cannot depart from wholeness, health, and harmony, for the eternal good is his source, his substance, his all; that his life is "hid with Christ in God;" that Life is infinite, inexhaustible, limitless, without beginning or end. Joy and peace are thus seen to be man's true and rightful inheritance, and health, harmony, and happiness his portion. My heart goes out in gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, for the joy and the blessing that have come to the whole world through her discovery and revelation of the truth in Christian Science.
