For ten years I was under the care of physicians, and was a constant sufferer the last years of my illness. Three physicians said the ailment was gall-stones, and wanted to operate, but gave me very little hope. The fourth physician said it was something else, and left me a large quantity of medicine. I took a few doses, but felt so bad after taking it that I had to vomit.

I had been for three months in bed and in constant pain when a dear niece came from Milwaukee to see me, and advised me to try Christian Science. After my niece told me that God could heal me through Christian Science, I felt that I must try it, so she telephoned to a practitioner, who asked whether I could come to see him (we were then living about forty miles from Milwaukee); but as it was impossible for me to go, the practitioner said he would give me an absent treatment and be out the next morning. The treatment gave me such peace that I slept all night for the first time in three months, and such a refreshing sleep! I got up the next morning and ate my breakfast with a good appetite. At about nine o'clock the practitioner came, and after telling me what God is, gave me another treatment. I felt so happy that when the practitioner and my niece, who had been with me for five days, were ready to leave, I said I would go also. So I got ready, went to Milwaukee, and walked about nine blocks that afternoon, after having been in bed for three months, and having had pain that seemed almost impossible to bear! After my walk of nine blocks, I had to lie down and rest.

After three weeks' treatment I felt like going home, and did so, feeling much better but not entirely healed. After being home about four weeks my feet began to swell very badly, so I thought I must go back for further treatment. I could hardly walk, on account of my feet, but I continued the treatments for about seven weeks, after which I was completely healed. I feel as though I would like every one to know of my wonderful healing. I know that if it had not been for Christian Science I would not be here today.
