When I see the need of Christian Science everywhere, I...
When I see the need of Christian Science everywhere, I feel that I should tell others of the benefit it has been to us. Our year-old child awoke one morning with some fever, and about noon he accidentally swallowed a parched peanut, getting it into his windpipe. A doctor was soon called, and on examination found that the little fellow had a severe case of throat trouble, and very soon acute lung trouble set in. For several days it seemed as if the child could not live, the doctor in attendance saying that he had done all he could and that the child was too young to stand an operation. I then spoke to him about Christian Science, and he told me to have it by all means if I wished, but that he did not believe in it.
I telephoned to a Christian Scientist for treatment about six in the afternoon, and by noon next day the child was so much improved that he would smile at me and could take some food. In a few days he was well, and now he is a healthy, happy child. How can I ever be thankful enough to God for all His goodness, and to dear Mrs. Eddy! Christian Science has been so much help to me in the darkest hours.
Another child was healed of a severe nervous disease in a short time by this wonderful truth. As for myself, I feel if it had not been for Christian Science I should not be living today. I seemed to be diseased in every organ of my body, and the doctors could not do me any good, for the treatment for one disease would apparently hurt me in respect to another; so, when it seemed that there was no help for me, as I happened to hear about Christian Science, I turned to it, though with little or no hope. It has however, given me hope and better health, and although not entirely healed, I have been so much benefited that I can assist in my housework, which is much better than being bed-fast, and I feel that as I come to know more about the truth, it will free me more and more, for the promise is, "Ye shall known the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
