I feel deeply grateful to God, and to our beloved Leader,...
I feel deeply grateful to God, and to our beloved Leader for this wonderful truth which she has given us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and I should like to tell of a demonstration which I had in june, 1908. It was Wednesday evening, and my husband and I and a niece who was with us were getting ready for church. In coming downstairs I missed a step and fell, injuring my ankle severely. I at once declared the truth, but my husband and niece were very much alarmed. They tried to help me get up, but I felt it best to rely upon the power of Truth. I reached my room with difficulty and asked for Science and Health, which they handed me. I was so faint, however, that I could not read, so I asked my niece to repeat the scientific statement of being aloud with me, which she did. Inside of five minutes I was able to stand, and I started once more down the stairs, as I recognized that error had no power to keep me out of my right place. I walked all the way to and from church without even having to limp. I feel very grateful for this manifestation of the power of Truth, for the reason that before becoming interested in Christian Science a fall would lay me up for days.
I should also like to say that I was healed of rheumatism and catarrh through the reading of Science and Health. I would add that the physical healing is not to be compared with the spiritual uplifting which we receive through the study of the Scriptures and our text-book. I am also grateful for our periodicals, including the Monitor, and realize how much we owe to all the faithful workers. I pray each day that I may reflect more and more of this wonderful truth, and that in so doing my light may shine forth and help light the path for others.
