Some time ago my nephew called me on the telephone, and said that he had been ill since the first of the year and had been confined to the house for three months. He had been a sufferer for the past four years from stone in the kidney. He had had three specialists, and each had decided that the only thing for him was an operation. He then told me he had tried everything excepting Christian Science, and asked when I was coming to see him. I replied that I would go the following day. I went to see my nephew as I had promised, and brought to his notice some strong points in Christian Science. I told him I had brought a copy of our text-book, Science and Health, and that if he would like to read it I would leave it. I said, "Many have been healed by reading this book, but you must bear in mind it is not the reading alone that does the work. Here you will find a Principle and a rule; if you use your intelligence and apply the rule, you will prove the Principle and make your demonstration." When I was going away he asked me to leave the book and said he would read it.

Four or five days after this there came a call on the telephone, and again it was my nephew. He said, "What do you think? I have been healed of my trouble, and I give the credit to Christian Science. I read the book conscientiously and did just as you advised. I stopped taking medicine from the time you came that day. It was a struggle, but I passed the stone, and that is all I have to say." In two or three days he came to see me, returned the book, and expressed his gratitude for my quick response to his call for help. My son saw him lately, and he said he had never felt better in all his life and had gained twenty pounds in less than a month.

I would like to add that I was healed after many years of suffering. I am deeply grateful for what Christian Science has done for me; and grateful to have been the messenger to carry the healing truth to my relative.
