When I first learned of Christian Science I was a physical wreck. I could not get along a week without medicines of some kind, and this had been the case for over forty years. I had been under the care of many doctors, but none could give me any permanent relief and by no means could any cure me. Soon after I heard of Christian Science I suffered from poisoning in my hand, and I think I should have lost the hand had it not been for the treatment I received from a Christian Science practitioner. Although I lost the nail of one finger, I was able to do my washing during the whole time I was under treatment, and was entirely healed. In the case of another serious attack of illness, I was healed by absent treatment. Two years later I had a similar attack, and with the little understanding I had of Christian Science I was able to overcome it in a few days without any one's help.

Before I came into Christian Science I was so very much afraid of storms that I could neither eat, sleep, nor work while the wind was blowing hard, but now I have no such fear, because I know that God is ever-present and will take care of me. My health is greatly improved, and I can get through with my business and work much better than I used to; while the spiritual uplifting is so very great that I enjoy life more than ever I did in all the previous years.

I feel very thankful to God that I am living in this age, and very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for what she has done for me and for giving Science and Health to the world.
