I have too long delayed in giving a testimony of my gratitude to God for the great work that has been done in my family through Christian Science. I first learned of this healing truth about ten years ago, after my daughter had been given up as incurable by four physicians. One of them, our family physician and a personal friend, treated her for twelve months, and then said that only death would relieve her. She could retain hardly any food or even drugs. We tried three other doctors, but each ended with the statement that as her stomach was seriously affected she could not be cured. A neighbor who heard all this asked why we did not try Christian Science. I asked her what it was, and she said she did not know, except that it was something like the way that Christ healed the sick, and that she knew of a young girl who had been healed of spinal trouble after seventeen years of invalidism and helplessness. This neighbor did not know the name of the practitioner, but promised to find out. I was so anxious that I could hardly wait, and as soon as I received the information I wrote for treatment. My daughter had not been able to stand, nor had any natural action of the bowels for over a year, but in less than three weeks after the first treatment in Christian Science she asked me to get her shoes. She drew up her foot, put on first one shoe and then the other, rose up from the bed, and walked a few steps. Out of a full heart I said, "Thanks be to God." I reminded my daughter that the Scientist had said that when she was able to walk we were to give God the praise. We both stood there in silent thankfulness for a few minutes, and then my daughter said, "Thank God, I am healed!" From that time until now she has had no return of the disease, and she loves Mrs. Eddy and is grateful to her for this revelation of Truth which heals.

Since then we have had no need of medicine, for we have learned that it is God who heals all our diseases. I have seen the truth, as revealed in Science and Health, heal many other diseases. Two of my family have been healed of the drink habit, and I have learned to read without glasses, after having worn them eighteen years. My family and I attend and love the Christian Science service, and each day finds us studying the helpful Lesson-Sermons, with hearts overflowing in gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, for His unspeakable gift to all mankind.
