Trusting that my testimony will be of benefit to others,...
Trusting that my testimony will be of benefit to others, I feel that I should give it in gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and my family. Last summer I was attacked with a trouble which was later diagnosed on two different occasions as a gall-stone. During the fall I kept getting worse, and the suffering at times was very severe, so much so that it was necessary to resort to hypodermic injections for temporary relief. After doctoring for two months or more without any benefit, but gradually getting worse and suffering more pain as time went on, I concluded I would try Christian Science, as I knew it had helped other people out of different troubles.
I was run down physically from this trouble and other complications which were brought on by it, and was greatly discouraged, as I had been informed by my physician that some cases lasted a couple of years without permanent relief, and I knew that many such proved fatal in the end. It was in this state of mind and in great pain of body that I made my first visit to a Christian Science practitioner. I received treatment, and as I felt easier, I was encouraged. I took treatment for something over two weeks, and was able to go to work thereafter, the trouble being gradually corrected through the understanding of Christian Science. Besides the treatments, I read daily in Science and Health, which was a constant help, as it was the understanding of Truth and the relationship of man to God that I needed. I was relieved of the gall-stone after two weeks' treatment, and three more treatments relieved me entirely of the other complications which were upon me. Since that time I have had good health, and have gained considerable in weight. Besides this we have had in our family several proofs of the healing power of Truth through the understanding of Christian Science.
My family and I are deeply thankful to God, and we wish to extend our gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for bringing to the world this wonderful truth. I can recommend any one in need of physical or spiritual help to seek it through Christian Science.—H. M. Baty, Los Angeles, Cal.
