I have wished for some time to send my testimony to the Sentinel, to tell of the healing of my son of a dreaded fever. I do this hoping it may encourage some other mothers who are in trouble as I was. I got a message that my son, who was in a distant town, was ill. I left home at once, and when I got to him I found that friends had sent for a physician and that he was taking medicine, so I nursed him under the doctor's direction for four weeks. The doctor then told me he had done all he could for my boy, but that his stomach had rejected everything and he was almost a skeleton. I told the doctor that my son wanted Christian Science treatment (he had asked for it several times). The doctor became very angry, calling me "a crazy woman." A dear Scientist was with me, and she went to the office at nine o'clock at night and sent a telegram to a Christian Science practitioner in Baltimore. It was received at ten o'clock and my son slept well and took nourishment through the night. He was much stronger the next morning, and kept on improving so that in one week I took him home; and in two weeks after getting home he was able to go back to his work. None but a mother can know how happy and thankful I am that I had Christian Science treatment for him. I get good letters from him and I know I am living nearer to heaven (harmony), than I ever thought I could on this earth. I study the Lesson-Sermon each week, and Science and Health with the Bible is my daily companion.
