It is over ten years since I first heard of Christian Science. A friend told me of it, and said she would have the book if she had to save five cents at a time to get it, and that was the way I got it. She advised me not to tell my husband about it, so it went on for one month; then I made the remark to him that I was going to try Christian Science; that if it could heal others it could heal me. The next morning when he went to his place of business, a man walked in with a copy of Science and Health in his hand, and began talking Christian Science to him. My husband told him to go and talk to me about it, which he did, and gave me the address of a practitioner. I wrote her that same day, and took one week's treatment. My husband then said it was a money-making scheme, but he soon saw the change me, for when I went out people would tell me how well I looked. I had been in a weak state for years, although I had doctored with the home physician and had all the faith possible in him. This doctor now admits that Christian Science did something for me. I had also gone East for one winter, but came back no better.

I took Christian Science treatment in September, 1895; in November my maid left, and I have been alone since then, In December I had another week's treatment, and have used no medicine since. I have had many ailments vanish before the truth, such as an abnormal growth, catarrhal and rheumatic trouble, etc., but the greatest blessing of all is the spiritual uplifting received.
