A year ago last May I was healed by reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. For many years I had suffered with a complication of diseases. Two doctors said that my family would find me dead some day, and that the only help for me was an operation, to which I would not consent. I was then living in Minnesota, and a dear sister Scientist came to me many times and told me what Christian Science could do for me, but I did not understand it. At last, however, I got where something had to be done, and Christian Science came to me in such a way that I had to understand it. I went to bed on the night of April 29, 1905, and instead of waking up in distress as I usually did, I awoke many times that night only to find myself peaceful. The next day I felt better, and the night following I had the same experience. I then took my material remedies (which were many) out of my room, and I have never used them since. I went to the Scientist and told her that I wanted to try Christian Science. She told me what to do and loaned me a copy of Science and Health. I studied it, knowing it would heal me, and in less than a week I was well. I had a large lump in my side, but that disappeared and I could do my housework with pleasure. I had thought I was living as God wanted me to, and when I suffered I would say, "Not my will, but thine, be done;" but I have learned that God never made sin or suffering, and to-day I thank God that He has shown His children, through Mrs. Eddy, how they should live. I am now living in Saskatchewan, Canada, fifty miles from a town and three and a half miles from a neighbor, but I have had many demonstrations of harmony through Christian Science, and earnestly desire to be worthy of being called a Christian Scientist.
