Christian Science, of which I first heard in July, 1905,...

Christian Science, of which I first heard in July, 1905, has entirely changed my life. I had been a believer, certainly, but I knew there was something yet needful. I suffered because of that sense of lack, and prayed God to change my heart and to give me wisdom. The answer was long in coming,—so long,—but what an answer came to me! I now know that God is not a God to fear but to love. He is Love, and to Him belong kingdom, power, and glory! His power is for good only to His children. His hand is always open to save, and we have but to ask Him in the right way. He can and will help us in small things as well as great. Being Love, He sends no sickness, no afflictions, but delivers us from the evil that our sins have brought. He wishes us to be happy here in this life, on this earth. In knowing God we are taken out of the bondage of material law, because of which mortals have suffered so many centuries. All this has been made plain to me through Christian Science, and this understanding has changed my life. Christian Science has given me a deeper knowledge of the Bible, better health, quietness, tenderness; made me more watchful toward my neighbor. It has taken away all fear, given me "eyes that see" and "ears that hear"—teaching me to see in every one and everywhere the reflection of divine Love. The commandment is to be holy, and we can learn to be this through the study of Christian Science.

God bless Mrs. Eddy, who has revealed to us these wonderful and "deep things of God;" and thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift here and now.
