It is with a feeling of inestimable gratitude to our dear Leader that I am happy to acknowledge my healing of asthmatic trouble through Christian Science. This disease came to me when a child, and after suffering for seven or eight years with but little relief from many excellent physicians, I seemed suddenly to outgrow it. During four years at college I was not troubled by it, and then it came back with renewed force, until frequent attacks of the usual distressing conditions brought me to a point where decisive action in one of two directions was necessary: I must go back to the unpleasant, ineffectual remedies offered by materia medica to assuage this so-called incurable disease, or I must try Christian Science, an alternative which had occurred to me somewhat dimly before. I at once took three weeks' treatment, with almost instantaneous relief from a severe attack within that period. This was over two years ago, and for nearly a year I have been free from my former grim taskmaster. Once or twice during the first year there were recurring symptoms to be conquered, but now I can go to any of the places where formerly the disease seemed to be lurking for me, without the slightest fear; and having no fear, I have no suffering. I shall never forget the elation with which I found myself running up the stairs in a house where previously I had gasped for each breath as I crept around on the lower floor, not daring to go up stairs. In traveling, with Science and Health as my "Baedeker," Christian Science has been an ever-present help. In the far West this summer I have found services being held in most unexpected and out-of-the-way places; even on Catalina Island, far out in the Pacific ocean, a little tent was used for Sunday and Wednesday meetings.

All honor to this Divine Science that has given us a new understanding of the Bible, and shown us that it should be used on seven days of the week instead of one. Christian Science has taught us to forsake our old gods and to know the one God, good, who forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases.
