My gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me is beyond expression, but I desire to tell others a few of the many blessings that have followed an earnest seeking after the truth contained in the Bible and made available by our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. After about thirty years of unspeakable suffering, both mental and physical, no hope offered by materia medica, I have been lifted up to peace, joy, strength, and health never before dreamed of, and to-day, at sixty-one years of age, I can accomplish far more than at twenty-five. Instead of falling into a sense of age and weakness, I am daily gaining the understanding which leads away from such false and destructive conclusions into a spiritual sense of eternal life, here and now.

About six years ago I had a severe fall, injuring my hip to the degree that the physician who was called in said the conditions were very serious. He predicted that if I recovered from it at all, a year must elapse before I could walk comfortably, and that rheumatic troubles would surely follow. At this time I was among those who did not believe in Christian Science, or rather, knew nothing about it, and they naturally urged the services of a physician; but I declined all assistance, though fully appreciating their kindly motives, and wrote to a distant city for Christian Science treatment. With ever-increasing gratitude I say that in about three months I was walking without any material aid, and from that time the limb has given me not one trace of trouble in any way. I have been brought through attacks of a serious bowel trouble in a most marvelous manner, after physicians had said that only an operation would relieve me, but because of extreme debility they were unable to attempt such a measure. In all humility, and giving all the glory to God, I was the means of the healing of my husband of a very painful trouble for which the doctor was urging an operation, while subjecting him to most distressing treatment. As he was almost seventy years of age, we felt it unsafe to consent to such methods, and gave over the case to Truth alone, with the result that in three days the healing was complete. My father, at eighty-one, was healed in a week's absent treatment of a torturesome eruption of long years' standing, and my mother at about the same age received much help and comfort from the same source, even God.

These are only a few of the countless blessings which have come to me and mine since turning away from matter and its discordant conditions to Spirit and its ever-present harmonies. Is it strange, therefore, that our hearts go out in deep love and gratitude to God, and to His faithful, patient one, our Leader, who has "fought the good fight" and won the "crown of rejoicing"?
