Soon after I was healed in Christian Science my little girl fell, and as she did so, she screamed with pain, and said her arm hurt badly. I took her in my arms and declared the truth for twenty minutes before she ceased crying. I worked on, as I feared the arm was broken, for when she moved it seemed to be loose. We told no one and I did not call for help until the following day. The arm was so swollen by bedtime that I could not remove her dress, but the next day she went to school. Her teacher excused her from writing, but when she came home I took off the dress and found the arm very black. I sent a message to my teacher to come at once. She did so; and said that the work was done, for the child had not suffered since the first twenty minutes. The arm is now as strong as the other.

After I had been in Science about three years we moved from EI Paso, Ill., to Fonda, Ia. There was a great deal of sickness and many fatal cases among the children of the town, and I felt afraid, for our little girl had been compling. I worked earnestly, but realized that I needed help and again sent to my dear friend. I worked until four o'clock in the morning, then the fear was destroyed and the child was freed from what seemed the last enemy. A few years after this demonstration another child complained of a sore throat, and we worked in Science until the ailment disappeared. In the fall an attack of typhoid fever appeared. I declared the truth till late at night, until the fever disappeared, and she did not even lose a day in school.

On another occasion, our little son, about two years old, swallowed some lye which had been left within his reach. I declared the truth for a half hour before relief came. That evening he ate toast; he was healed. The maid, who saw this demonstration, asked for treatment soon after and was healed. I was healed of a so-called incurable disease thirteen years ago, and we have had numberless demonstrations for the children, overcoming whooping-cough, measles, etc., but we have been free from contagious diseases for several years, and many have learned of the power of Truth because of what they see it do for us.
