About six years ago I was a hopeless invalid, having suffered off and on for years from hemorrhages of the lungs. The last three or four years before hearing of Christian Science, I had been unable to do any kind of work. I had tried everything of which I ever heard without any benefit. Several of the best doctors here said I had consumption, others said it was a wonder how I could live and have these hemorrhages. I was taken to a hospital with the hope that better care and perfect quiet might benefit me, but after leaving there I was worse than before. I did not leave my bed for seven months, and never expected to be well again. When morning came I wondered if I should live through the day, and at night I did not expect to see morning.
One evening a lady called on me, and said I could be healed. She spoke to me of Christian Science and gave me a Sentinel. I read the testimonies and saw so many cases of healing that I felt there might be help for me. I concluded to try it, and went to see this lady, who gave me a treatment, and from that time I was healed. I was able to run my sewing-machine all day the very next day, and every day after, also to do my housework, which I had not been able to do for years. I am a well woman to-day and a picture of health. Not only have I been healed, but my whole family have received help many times. My husband, who was a hard drinker, was healed; he has not tasted intoxicants of any kind for six years. He is very grateful, as he had tried to conquer the habit many times and had failed, but there is nothing, either physical, mental, or moral, that Christian Science cannot heal. We are indeed grateful for the knowledge of Christian Science,—grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy who brought it to us. It is grand to know that in whatever form error may appear, we always have a remedy with us; that this truth does destroy error of every kind.—Mrs. A. Bulley, Racine, Wis.
