With a heart full of gratitude to God, and to our dear...

With a heart full of gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, I lovingly give the following testimony of an experience which has proved to us more than ever before the presence of God at all times. While one of our little girls, ten years old, was at play with other children at a neighbor's home, an altercation arose between two grown persons. In the midst of the trouble our little girl received a vicious blow in the abdomen, having been kicked by one of the participants in the fray. She was not visibly affected by the blow, except that she was deprived of her breath for a few moments. To all appearance she had received no other injuries, and returned to school for the afternoon session. Within a short time, however, symptoms appeared which were very serious and caused us a hard battle with fear. A suffocating fever developed, followed by frequent hemorrhages. While her condition seemed to be precarious, we clung tenaciously to the allness of God, realizing as best we could His ever presence and protection. The injury was received on Tuesday about noon, and Wednesday it was considered best to give the case over to a Christian Science practitioner. This was done, and it was only a short time until improvement was very manifest. The fever grew less severe and the hemorrnage gradually diminished. Improvement was so marked that by Saturday she was able to go for a walk and spent considerable time gathering flowers. She slept well at night and her appetite grew stronger. By Sunday she was in her normal condition, although still showing evidence of having passed through an ordeal. This, however, soon passed, and within two days time no evidence of the experience remained.

Our family is a large one and we sometimes have to prove the truth we are trying to live, but we find that as we do our part in its daily demonstration we have greater confidence that "the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save,"—J. Francis Stroup, Omaha, Neb.
