[Written for the Sentinel.]

Harmony

Though oft belief around thee wind,
And gloomy shades of discord strive
Thee to engulf, in mortal sense,
Know Love alone, and thou shalt live
In harmony.

Despairing mortal, seek the truth
And rise to immortality.
Know thou that God alone is Life:
In Life thou art eternally
In harmony.

O sin-enslaved humanity,
Assert man's sacred rights divine,
And walk not silent in the shade,
But joyous in the light benign,—
In harmony.
