Two years ago I had my first Christian Science treatment and was healed in five weeks of a disease of the throat called chronic laryngitis, which I had had for four years. I had been treated by several physicians, the last being a prominent throat specialist of this city, who failed to relieve me in six months' continuous treatment, and who feared a development of tuberculosis. Later, I took two months' osteopathic treatment with the same result. I was gradually getting worse, and had to give up singing entirely, but can now sing with greater ease than I ever could before. I am glad to acknowledge my debt of gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, and yet I am more thankful for the understanding of God that I have gained through my study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," than even for the physical healing. There was a time, when I first began treatment, that had it not been for the patience and unselfed love manifested, I should have given it up. Money can never pay for the hours spent in helping me to gain an understanding of God's allness and the Christ-truth.
