About four years ago I was healed through Christian Science of several diseases, nearly all of which were of years' standing.— constipation from infancy, female weakness, tonsilitis, severe headaches, besides catarrh and heart trouble. I had trouble with the jaw-bone, supposed to have come from decayed teeth. On account of abscesses I had a dentist and doctor probe and lance my jaw many times, during a year and a half, causing me great suffering, so that I could not eat or sleep. I was so weak some days that I could not sit up all day. The doctor and the dentist said I would need to have the jaw bone scraped or a piece of it removed, an operation very painful and dangerous. Another doctor pronounced the bone trouble of a cancerous nature, as the others had done. He also said I had a bad heart trouble and that I would soon have consumption. He told me I could never be cured.

It seemed as if I could not die, and I was too miserable to live. It was at this stage that Christian Science found me. A neighbor came to see me and told me she had been healed through Christian Science, and I took treatment soon after. I had but three present treatments, the rest being absent, and I was entirely healed of all the diseases mentioned.

We bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. How good it was to find that God is not a far-off God, but that we live in Him and that He never made sin, sickness, or death. The practitioner was always turning me from the false sense of life, to God. Spirit, as the only Life. My husband and I both consider the Bible and Science and Health the best books we have ever read. Science and Health gives the spiritual meaning of the entire Scriptures. I used knowledge I had of Science and was well and happy for over two years, then I had a severe struggle. There were no Scientists near us, and we did not write to a practitioner as we should have done. Relatives and neighbors wanted me to have a doctor, so we yielded, but divine Love never for one moment for-sook me. After visiting in several places I went to the practitioner who had helped me before, and was entirely healed in a short time, the sensitiveness from which I had suffered all my life yielding last. I have always found justice in Christian Science, for which I am thankful. I went to church while in Spokane and saw a large crowd of cheerful and intelligent people. I have not found any Scientists in this neighborhood, but I read Science and Health, the Sentinel, and study the Lesson Sermon, from which I am always benefited. My husband also reads Science and Health and the Sentinel.
