The old dream of suffering and despair from which Christian Science...
The old dream of suffering and despair from which Christian Science awakened me, six years ago, has so faded to its native nothingness that the remembrance is only a jumble of doctors from Colorado to New York; baths, electricity, and morphine. From childhood I had been held in bondage to materia medica, so that when I grew to womanhood there was nothing to look forward to but suffering, with a complication of troubles that was constantly being added to. The last addition was a spinal trouble which my physicians could not understand.
How the world changed for me when I finally consented to be treated in Christian Science. It was after I had received two treatments that I experienced a wonderful spiritual uplifting, and found that God was the physician I had long been seeking, that God is good, and that I had not suffered from any law of His. What joy and peace came to me when I realized the true meaning of the omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience of God as taught in Christian Science; how this precious truth has unfolded day by day, here a little, and there a little, as I had been ready to receive it. I had been a member of an orthodox church from childhoo, but it never satisfied my longing or answered my questions. I rejoice that through Christian Science the longing has been satisfied and the questions answered.
I am humbly grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, through whom this living water has been given me.
Dora F. Fuller, Westfield, Mass.
