It seems to me that the time has come when I should give...
It seems to me that the time has come when I should give a written testimony, thanking God for the great blessings which Christian Science has brought to me. One year ago I was a physical wreck. For seventeen years I had been a sufferer from stomach and liver trouble and nervous exhaustion. Five years of this time I was unable to perform manual labor; I gave up three good paying positions, causing a loss of several thousand dollars in salary and a large amount of money for medicine. I was under the care of several physicians with only temporary relief, tried patent medicines, and finally became much discouraged. My prayers seemed unanswered, and all hope was about to be abandoned when a kind friend persuaded me to go and see a lady who had been healed through Christian Science. I shall ever be most thankful to this lady for her kind advice and for accompanying me to a Christian Science practitioner. Through Christian Science I have been healed. It has been the renewing of the Spirit,—the putting off of the old man and the putting on of the new,—as the apostle expresses it. I can now eat what I wish without fear, and with a relish; I sleep well, have a clear conscience, and enjoy real happiness. I have laid aside my glasses, and feel no inconvenience for having done so, after having worn them regularly for five years.
I wish also to tender my heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Eddy for the text-book of Christian Science.
Isaac S. Ambrose, Dayton, O.
